New rock group As We Ascend has officially launched with the debut of their first song, "Wash Away." You can stream the song below or download on our free downloads page.
As We Ascend is a group born from the aftermath of We As Human following its
disbandment earlier this year. Former
We As Human guitarists Justin Forshaw and Jake Jones have stepped up to take on joint writing and vocal duties as well. They are joined by Robert Venable on drums, a producer who has worked with a diverse range of artists including Megadeth, Scott Stapp, Jennifer Lopez, Disciple and Kutless.
The band's approach to sharing the new song has been a unique one, with the band encouraging fans to share "Wash Away" with each other in a grassroots, word-of-mouth movement. The result has been that the band's momentum is carried by the fans rather than the focus being on the band members alone. It's an approach As We Ascend plans to continue with the launch of a PledgeMusic campaign in the coming weeks.
