The story behind this song is a loving couple who have gone through many of life's challenges together, only to become stronger and more loving. There is so much peace and strength in knowing that God walks with us through every season and never leaves us. This song reminds me of that truth daily.

Closing Thoughts

If you’ve ever felt that lack of peace and uneasiness, you know that God often works through that uneasiness to disturb us, unsettle us, and open us up to something new. So many believers still struggle with the idea that we must prove ourselves worthy before God. Paul tells us in his letter to the Colossians that we should rejoice in our sufferings, as they bring us closer to Christ. 

Too often, we become overwhelmed by our circumstances and indulge in negative thoughts, letting the enemy shape our view of self-worth. Jesus died on the cross to free us from mental struggles, sin, and death. He desires us to live abundantly through Him. This is a truly uplifting and encouraging truth.

I love hearing Scripture proclaimed in fresh and exciting ways. This song is deeply moving and rooted in the truth of God's Word. If the spirit of mercy is a basic element of Christian faith, then the expression of mercy is an integral part of that faith. This expression of mercy constitutes faith in action. Once we accept the message of this song and affirm it with yes and amen, we shouldn't boast about being saved by Jesus’ blood. Instead, we should humble ourselves to serve others and act as the hands and feet of our Savior through our words and deeds.

What if we lived as though we believe the sincere words of this song? Jesus loves us so much that He came down and took our punishment so that we can be with Him forever. Be free and know with certainty: “You walk with me, promise You'll never leave/Hold me through everything, You're all I need/Even if the days feel dark/Even if I fall apart/I'll never wonder where You are/You're with me through it all.” Amen to that.
