Warning: Do not write this group and/or cd off at first listen. I did and I was missing out.
I'll be honest, I'm a fringe punk fan at best, and rarely do I lay my cold hard cash down for a band with a female singer (there are exceptions, I do like Fireflight) and stupid me I just wrote off this band. That is until I was listening to XM Satellite radio on my DirectTV one Saturday and "You Know We're All So Fond of Dying" shot out of my speakers and lodged itself in my mind, never to leave until I had marched to my nearest store and purchased the entire cd. I knew it had staying power when my wife decread that I was no longer aloud to sing either "Fond of Dying" or "Homeade Valentine" in our apartment (for at least a week or two or she would go insane.
Not one for vague lyrics, I will admit I have some trouble sifting through the poetry that is Children 18:3 lyrics, but there is no denying that they are thought-provoking, well done, and challenging.
As far as the music goes I just can't decide whether to describe it as raw...or polished. Heavy...or melodic. And I do believe it is the refusal to be pigeon-holed that sets Children 18:3 apart from the pack. Kudos! View All Music And Book Reviews By Bpuckhead89 | View Bpuckhead89's Profile
