Pop group Anthem Lights has spent the last month raising money for their new album Painted Skies. With just over a day to go in their Kickstarter campaign they were less than fifty percent funded, but much to their amazement, the project was fully funded (112% to be exact) on the last night of the campaign.
"Do you believe in miracles?? If anyone has been waiting to pledge, NOW is the time. It doesn't look good guys, but we are incredibly THANKFUL to the hundreds who have given. 30 hours to go," the band posted only a few days ago. A few hours after there came another update: "To our dear fans... There's only 24 hours left to go in our Kickstarter campaign...and well...we are pretty far from our goal."
Though it looked like they wouldn't make it to a successful campaign, the guys didn't give up and continued updating social media through videos and live streams every few hours Wednesday. With only 30 minutes to go, the project was fully funded and the exciting moment was caught on camera as they watched the last pledge come in and immediately jumped up to celebrate. "Is this real life? We DID IT!!! We are beyond thankful for our fans. There are no words," the band said in a video the next day.
"We made our last record in 2014 and since then a LOT has changed, both personally and musically. Saying goodbye to a founding member of our band and gaining a new brother has come with it's own unique set of triumphs and challenges. Even with all of these changes, something that has stayed constant is YOU -the fans- you've stuck by us and supported us and believed in us while sharing your stories in emails, comments, messages and at shows. We are blown away by your honesty and encouraged by your bravery.
You have inspired us to dig deep and write something more transparent than anything we've made before. We want to use the power of music to share our truth with the world. Sometimes you have deconstruct something until you hit rock bottom so that brick by brick you can rebuild it better and stronger. We are more than cover songs, mashups and medleys. More than our victories or failures. We are inspired, passionate, real and on a journey. Thank you in advance for helping us tell our story. We can't wait to make this album with you," the band wrote on the campaign page.
