Award-winning Gospel Artist, Minister, Songwriter and Activist Lloyd Spence is calling the nation to attention with the release of his debut album, A.W.E. Chapter 1: #GameChangers (available at iTunes and on Amazon) and the launch of a unification initiative, #UniteTheNation.
"For too long, I have watched my nation display attitudes, and behavior that has flown in the face of the ideals that we were founded on," says Spence. "I have watched the culture that I most identify with cry out in anger, without truly understanding what our tears are supposed to produce. I have watched communities demand justice for slain young men and women, without any level of leadership who could assure that those demands not fall on deaf ears. I have watched these things for too long. I must now do something."
On September 30, Spence will launch #UniteTheNation at his official album release concert at Mt. Olive Church of Plano in Plano, Texas. The event begins at 7:30 pm. Tickets for the event are free, but should be reserved in advance. They can be obtained by calling 972.633.5511 or by emailing talkinnoiz@gmail.com.
Following the event, as detailed on the website www.awegamechangers.com, the initiative will spread nationwide, calling on an assortment of individuals from artists and media personalities to political and civic leaders.
"Unite The Nation Now is a movement towards real and substantive changes that start the process of bringing together all aspects of our nation toward real Kingdom solutions. At the foundation of each of our Initiatives is the tangible demonstration of love amongst every culture, every community, every family, every person. It is our responsibility to lead our nation to peace and change," explains Spence.
In addition to calling for unity and proactive support for tolerance around the nation, Unite The Nation Now will also be launching an initiative to care for and remember the families of the fallen--from officers killed in the line of duty to civilians who have lost their lives tragically and inexplicably. More details will be unveiled as the movement develops.
One of the first calls to action from Unite The Nation Now is for individuals to purchase and wear a t-shirt bearing the campaign's slogan. See below, as Spence and his wife, Kenyetta, proudly model the shirt. More information about purchasing the shirt is available at www.awegamechangers.com.
