As soon as fans began to process the recent announcement that Flyleaf lead singer Kristen May had stepped down from the band, they immediately formulated another question en masse: Would this open up the door for founding vocalist Lacey Sturm to return?
In a recent interview with NewReleaseToday, Sturm said she hasn't personally talked to any of the band members since May left Flyleaf, and hasn't seriously entertained the possibility of rejoining.
"I couldn't imagine that; that's not in my plans at all," she said. "Who knows what God's plans are and what will happen in the future. I don't put anything past Him, but at the same time I wish the best for them. We do have our own plans and I don't know what's going to go on with Flyleaf."

In the meantime, Sturm is busy readying her new relationships-focused book,
The Mystery, and preparing to head out on tour again.
She recently released the music video for the song "Rot," and plans to release at least another single from her solo project before moving to her next musical focus.
Sturm stepped down from Flyleaf in 2012, just before the release of
New Horizons, citing an unshakable desire to spend more quality time with her family and loved ones--a reason similar to the one given when May officially departed the band last month.
The band has yet to comment officially on May's decision and Flyleaf's immediate or long-term future.
