I had a few minor qualms over this novel. It did not cover David during his time in exile and the wonderful psalms that came from that period. I have read The Jerusalem Bible, but many years ago. That said I want to find a copy again. The author's use of paraphrase with the psalms was breathtaking. The interaction between David and the major characters in his life rang true to God's Word. Overall an excellent job on a much written about topic. ((adult, arc, battle, book-for-review, christian, christian-historical, culture, fiction, historical-fiction, murder, netgalley, read, war))
