This book is a collection of poems that Tanya wrote from sixth grade through her adulthood. Family is very important to Tanya. Therefore, she wrote this book to encourage others to leave a legacy to their loved ones based on moral, ethical, and cultural values. This book is a clarion call, which urges readers to not compromise their morals and to continually raise their standards. Poetry is used to express different phases of her life, as she leaves footprints for others to follow on her Journey to Legacy.
Tanya takes you on a journey, including a fourth chapter, "Leaving A Legacy," which gives insight into her most favorite experiences of her Native American culture. A bonus to this chapter is her family history, and new poems celebrating her lineage.
Journey to Legacy features photography by Robert Covington of Studio Cov, and illustrations by Stephaney Williams and Kaylea Goynes.
