Widows and Orphans is one of the best mysteries I've ever read. It's about a lawyer whose brother is suddenly accused of murder. She knows that that can't be true because his cause is helping widows and orphans. As she digs deeper into the mystery, she finds that nothing is as it seems. Nothing about the mystery is predictable. The characters are very well developed; one character in particular is one of my favorite characters ever. Well done. 4 stars
