This is one of the first books I ever read by Karen Kingsbury. I started this series and the Firstborn series around the same time, which was kind of confusing, but cool at the same time. Karen writes about things that happen to real people and makes you feel like you could fit into the story. You feel the emotions that the characters feel. This book deals more with Kari than the rest of the Baxters, and it is an amazing story that will keep you reading late into the night.
