What You Need to Know
Bri Babineaux is a veteran in the Gospel music field which is crazy to say. It seems like yesterday that she went viral passionately singing Tonex’s (now known as B. Slade) “Make Me Over” in a house gathering. Bri has been through a lot and has continued to keep God at the center. She has also experienced many great things.  In December of 2024, she got married to Emanuel Lambert Jr, aka rapper and theologian DA TRUTH. Now, Bri has released a new album, Briana, in a partnership with Tyscot Records.  Bri has her hand in co-writing on most of the songs on the album making this a very personal album of realness and triumph. Production on the album comes from Harmony “HMoney” Samuels, Slikk Muzik, Kayton Bassier, Troy Taylor, Johnta Austin, Makeba Riddick and more. Riddick also served as vocal arranger and co-writer on a few songs.

What It Sounds Like
Briana is a 10- track album that embodies a mixture of Urban R&B, praise and worship and a bit of Hip Hop. Slikk Muzik brings the punchy programming that makes you nod your head on “Confident.” Bri blames her contentment and confidence in God's grace. She loves where she is due to knowing God is in control of her life. The theme continues on “Grace.” This one starts off with dialogue between Bri and Paris Williams talking about the pressures that women deal with. In her lower register, Bri sings, “No one’s perfect/Can’t we learn from our mistakes/Every morning/Gives us a new day, a blank slate/Sunlight on my face, that’s grace.” The writing is cool in the fact that she is speaking vulnerably to people asking for grace while in the end asking God for His Grace. Another banger by Slikk Muzik with help from KelbyOnTheTrack and accented by Kobebeats’s melodic guitar.

Spiritual/Lyrical Highlights
Sometimes the biggest banger can be the song that really ministers to you the most. This is true for “The Real One.” Bri sings with a swag and confidence singing I’m on a new tip/Cause I’ve been through it/I’m switching lanes/I ain’t talking ‘bout a new whip/He took the pain, all the shame and confusion/He put in work, game be worth and it’s proven/He is the real one.” There is something about the redemptive nature of God and this song hit me just when I needed it!  Rapper Anike joins in on the fun to add a few bars against the bass-heavy track by Taylor Hill.

Best Song On The Record
“Faithful” is a powerful ballad singing of how God has been there for Bri no matter what she is going through. Here, Bri adlibs and showcases her range while she rhapsodically belts out her fully surrendered trust in a faithful God. Shout out to Lehman Gray, Terrell Wilson and Dominique Jones for lending their co-writing on this Philip Feaster-produced gem. Cue the bridge, “A very present help/Your love it never fails/Faithful, faithful/My way in wilderness…./You are faithful to me.”

Final Word
Briana delivers a compelling mix of Urban R&B, Hip Hop, and potent praise and worship, establishing Bri Babineaux's confident footing in the Gospel music space. From the head-nodding beats of tracks like 'Confident' and 'The Real One' to the deeply moving ballad 'Faithful,' the album is a testament to the joy and grace she has found. This project is more than just a summer soundtrack; it's a vulnerable yet powerful declaration of faith that will resonate with both longtime fans and new listeners.
