What You Need to Know Mary-Clair is a 21-year-old singer-songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee, whose music blends heartfelt storytelling with a dynamic mix of faith, love, and self-discovery. Writing songs since she was 10, she has a passion for creating music that resonates deeply with listeners. With a sound that ranges from uplifting and energetic to deeply powerful and reflective, her songs explore themes of perseverance, trust, and finding peace in love and faith. With an authentic voice and a gift for capturing life’s highs and lows, Mary-Clair continues to connect with audiences through songs that remind us we are seen, valued, and—above all—enough.
One of my intangibles and "it factors" that I listen for in selecting my favorite songs and albums is whether I'm moved emotionally. For newcomer Mary-Clair, her songs “Heaven in the Way,” “There’s A God” and “Falling” all fit that category for me. If you like catchy songs that are scripturally based with relatable lyrics and edifying messages, then you are in for a treat with Enough.
What it Sounds Like Preceding the album release, “Heaven in the Way” is representative of Mary-Clair’s musical style. What's awesome about the reflective song is that it provides encouragement and a prayerful and personal message. It also addresses the spiritual longing that we all face daily. The song is so good I can’t stop listening to it. “Enough” ties-in to our identity in Christ with a hook-filled melody and poignant message. These songs are very intentional and reflect what has happened in Mary-Clair’s life.
Spiritual Highlights I know that many of us struggle with the idea that our past and present mistakes and thoughts of anxiety, worry and depression define us, yet the Bible tells us that isn't true. Mary-Clair’s passionate vocals set the tone for this exceptional album. So many people can relate to the messages of these songs. The standout songs also include “Falling,” “There’s A God,” and “Voices.” Mary-Clair’s vocals are so strong and pure.
This album features standout songs about the ups and downs of being enough in our Christian walks as followers of Jesus. The cohesiveness of this album is one of the highlights for me. The opener “Your Love” reflects truth about God’s love. The upbeat opener invites listeners into Mary-Clair’s story and her positive grace-filled messages of hope.
Best Song on the Record “There’s A God” is my heart's cry and anthem to sing daily in praise to the Lord, regardless of my circumstances, doubts or worry. We are called as Christians to believe in the freedom that we have in the Cross of Jesus. We are free from our fears, addictions, insecurities and perfectionism. Jesus came to die for us so that we can all truly live in Him. You can pray along, “There's a God who knows your name/There's a friend who feels your pain/There is someone who will sit with you when the whole world walks away/There's a God who's reachin' out/He can heal your heart right now.”
“Falling” is another song that stirs my soul. We all have lies that we believe about ourselves. When you abide in His grace, you won't be the same. His grace takes away anxiety, guilt, and shame. I am inspired by the lyrics, “I used to wake up overthinkin'/My head stuck somewhere in the clouds/Spent my nights starin' at the ceilin′/Prayin′ for what I got now/With your arms around me, can't tell I′m fallin’.” The song has become my personal anthem.
“Your Love” is best described as an empowering anthem to lift up against fear, worry and anxiety. The song is an excellent companion to sing over your life. The moving musical bed of the song takes me on an emotional journey that causes me to excitedly sing along with the stirring lyrics every time I hear the song. You’ll understand how God feels about you from the beautiful refrain: “Great is Your love, yeah, it's one of a kind/I can always be sure that I'm Yours and You are mine.”
Final Word Mary-Clair has vocal sincerity and musical creativity. Her vocals are so strong and pure. If you like female singers that make you think while you enjoy their catchy and empowering songs, this album is for you. I have three young daughters, and this is a solid pop album with positive biblical messages which is a great alternative to mainstream pop artists. The album showcases Mary-Clair’s gifts as a songwriter, and her emotion-laden voice. This album is loaded with positive grace-filled messages of hope. Her songs address the pressures of life, and she understands that her identity only comes from her relationship with God.
