Mac Powell Christmas

Mac Powell was the long-time lead singer for four-time Grammy award winners Third Day, and has one of the best voices in music today. Since Third Day’s disbanding in 2018, he has enjoyed a solo career. With Third Day, he released Christmas Offerings in 2006. He returns with an enjoyable new five-song EP titled Christmas.
Here are a few brief comments about each of the songs on the EP:
Christmas Time Again, My Friend – Powell wrote this song with his daughter and son-in-law. The mid-tempo feel-good song references many Christmas memories (Bing Crosby on the radio, Charlie Brown on my TV, etc. The song features horns, a guitar solo, and backing vocals.

I Pray On Christmas – This jazz-flavored song was written by Harry Connick Jr. The song features some piano, guitar, bass, drums, and backing vocals.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas – This jazz-flavored song was written by Ralph Blane and Hugh Martin. The song features guitar, horns, bass, and some excellent piano.

Jesus Christ Is Born – This upbeat song was written by Powell and originally released in 2021. The song features guitar, drums, bass, and backing vocals.
