This author has a real gift for drawing readers in from the very first page. Good storytelling, like good design, is all about keeping people engaged without overwhelming them. I've noticed I absorb books better when I take short creative breaks in between — lately a jewel coloring game at https://jewelcoloring.org has become my go-to reset between reading sessions. Somehow the act of filling in patterns helps the mind settle before diving back into a new chapter.
