"It was a lot of fun going down memory lane, reuniting with old friends, and talking about how it all started," shares Tooth & Nail Records’ founder and President Brandon Ebel. "'No New Kinda Story' encapsulates the spirit of Tooth & Nail at its core, and I'm honored we were able to immortalize the beginnings of the label in film. It's been a blessing to work with so many artists and put out albums that truly impacted people, and I'm honored to have been a part of it."
Founded in 1993 in Southern California in a bedroom by Brandon Ebel, Tooth & Nail Records has a long-standing history that has lead it to be one of the most influential independent labels in the last twenty years. Ebel started the label with a loan from his grandfather and a strong belief in the music that inspired him. From inception, Ebel quickly became immersed in a connected network of musicians, clubs, fanzines and promoters that catapulted the label’s success.
Tooth & Nail Records has been the home to many staple and innovative artists including MxPx, Underoath, Anberlin, Norman Jean, mewithoutYou, MAE, Thousand Foot Krutch, Hawk Nelson, Haste the Day and The Chariot. Combined with it’s hard-rock sister label, Solid State Records, Tooth & Nail Records has released over 600 projects and sold more than 20 million records including multiple RIAA Gold-certified albums, GRAMMY® nominations and other prestigious honors.
In 2013, Tooth & Nail Records re-launched as a completely independent label group partnering with Sony RED distribution. Throughout the years the label has gone through many highs and lows, but it is Ebel's relentless spirit and dedication to music that has created this iconic label.
