Curb Records emerging songstress Carly Ann Taylor delivers a shot of clear-eyed optimism with “Something Good Is Coming."
The newcomer is confident light is on the other side of her doubt in “Something Good Is Coming.” Across the pivotal pop track, the SoCal-based singer-songwriter pairs relatable lyrics, grounded in her unwavering faith, with a soaring vocal that belies her youth. Offering hope to those who find themselves in a holding pattern, uncertain of what lies ahead, “Something Good Is Coming” was written by Taylor, Carter Frodge and Harrison Hackett. Frodge and Joseph Prielozny helmed production.
“These were the exact words that started it all: Something good is coming. And those words were just enough for me to hang on a little bit longer,” Taylor shares of the message behind the comforting original. “When I thought I would never get out, when I thought there was no hope for me, and I was just stuck in the reality that I hated, the Lord had plans for me. He had plans for my life, and that same promise is for you: Something good is coming for you. You who continues to numb what really needs healing; you who is dying for rest at the end of your running, I am here to tell you this… There is a river full of His love, and He is waiting for you.”
“Something Good Is Coming” drops today after months of teasing the mantra across Taylor’s social platforms and follows the unveiling of “Lifeline (with KB),” which was selected as a Spotify “Editors’ Pick” as one of the best songs released in August across all genres. The pair also premiered a music video to match the intensity of the recording.
As she continues to introduce her story, chapter by chapter, Taylor previously showcased additional facets of her blossoming artistry via the anthemic “Heavenly Father” and her Top 10 radio debut, “Why Should I Worry (Remind Me Version).” This fall, the buzzworthy vocalist will join Big Daddy Weave’s “My Hope Is Jesus Tour,” also slated to feature chart-topping duo Caleb & John. The outing will kick off Oct. 1 in Aiken, S.C., and conclude Nov. 22 in Northfield, Ill. For a full list of tour dates and more information, visit carlyanntaylor.com.
