Summer 2016 marks the 30-year anniversary of AtlantaFest, and it's returning with plans and an artist line-up that is bigger and better than ever before. The three-day festival has featured top names in Christian music each year, recently including TobyMac, Lecrae, Newsboys, Switchfoot, and a long list of other headliners.
AtlantaFest is returning under new ownership by Dr. Chris Leader, founder of Ignite Outreach and President of Food Aid International, and Jeffery Wall, founder of The Lighthouse Events and the RiverRock Music Festival. Dr. Leader has worked in ministry and international missions for over 10 years. Mr. Wall has worked for over 20 years in Christian Radio and concert promotion, including over 450 concerts throughout the Northeast.
Scott Dawson Evangelistic Association will continue their legacy of evangelistic outreach and spiritual enrichment as the operational responsibilities transition to the new leadership.
"It's an honor and privilege to partner with Scott Dawson in making AtlantaFest once again the premier Christian music festival in the country," said Dr. Leader. "Through our partnership with SDEA, we believe AtlantaFest can be a beacon of light across the Southeast and around our nation."
"I am thrilled that over the last five years we have seen a solid foundation built for the future of Atlantafest. It is with great anticipation that I look forward to years of success for Atlantafest in the future," said Scott Dawson. "SDEA will focus our attention on making the evangelistic efforts of the festival even more effective in years to come."
AtlantaFest is scheduled June 16-18, 2016, keeping its signature date in early June. Tickets will go on sale August 1. The venue and core artist line-up will be announced that day, as well. "I'm excited to be part of carrying on the tradition of the South's oldest and largest music festival," said Jeffery Wall. "We're looking forward to building upon the heritage of AtlantaFest and producing a strong line-up for 2016 -- one certainly fitting for the 30th anniversary of the festival."
