Dove-nominated singer/songwriter Misty Edwards, who released her newest and 4th studio album last winter, Little Bird, recently had the opportunity to share the title cut from the album with Starbucks® patrons across the U.S. and internationally. Fans new and old were treated to the sound of "Little Bird" featured as part of the in-store music playlist for the Starbucks Coffee Company chain, which has more than 21,000 retail stores in 66 countries. The song was heard in numerous Starbucks locations all over from California to Puerto Rico to Edwards' home base of Kansas City, MO, as fans shared the news through social media.
"I first heard that 'Little Bird' was playing in a California-based Starbucks from a friend who sent me a video clip," says Edwards, "which I immediately shared through social media and realized it was being played in stores all over as fans shared the news!"
Little Bird, Edwards' most recent solo project, released amidst critical acclaim, Dec. 29 from Forerunner Music, the official record label of the International House of Prayer of Kansas City (IHOPKC). Produced by 14 Grammy Award-winning / 25 Dove Award-winning Brown Bannister, plus co-production from the Grammy-nominated Paul Moak, several songs from the album, including "Little Bird," were heard for the first time by 20,000-plus people attending IHOPKC's Annual Onething Conference Dec. 28-31. Each December, downtown Kansas City is transformed into a global destination for thousands of fiery worshipers as IHOPKC hosts its premier event at the Kansas City Convention Center.
In addition to Misty Edwards, this year's Onething gathering featured Forerunner Music artists and IHOPKC worship leaders Jaye Thomas, Laura Hackett Park, Jonas Park, Jon Thurlow, Justin Rizzo and Ryan Kondo. Capturing some of the most memorable songs from the event, Forerunner Music releases Onething Live: Shout Your Name, amidst acclaim June 30.
