It looks like Shine Bright Baby has dropped the "baby."
The band fronted by husband-wife team Emily Irene and Nathan Fertig is now known as SHINEBRIGHT, and the name change comes on the heels of the release of new single "Reckless For Love," the firstfruits of new music coming this summer.
SHINEBRIGHT's new name is a natural step forward in the group's journey, says SHINEBRIGHT co-founder/guitarist Nathan Fertig.
"The change in our name to SHINEBRIGHT from Shine Bright Baby gets to the heart of the message that we are meant to be lights in the darkness," he said. "Many of our friends refer to us as 'Shine Bright' already, so it's a very natural transition. We love the name and are excited about that message leading this next season of our lives and music."
SHINEBRIGHT co-founder and lead vocalist Emily Irene says the band's new song, "Reckless For Love," is about living and loving recklessly because that's what Christ did for us.
"The kind of love Christ showed us is spontaneous and passionate. We don't have to worry about consequences or whatever people think of us. We just need to live with a bold faith and let God lead us."
The first new music since Dreamers released in 2013, SHINEBRIGHT's "Reckless For Love" single will be followed by the band's eight-track project, Only You, on Friday, July 17.
