Hot on the heels of the major announcements of MercyMe's I Can Only Imagine 2 and Jeremy Camp's I Still Believe Still (announced earlier today during our K-Love host interview), the Christian music world is abuzz with the latest shocking movie announcement that's based on a popular hit Christian song–Christian rock legends Newsboys are set to star in their own action-packed cinematic spectacle, Breakfast In Hell!
The film, inspired by their fan-favorite 1996 hit "Breakfast," promises a genre-defying mix of faith, fantasy, and full-throttle cereal warfare, bringing some of the most infamous breakfast villains to the big screen for the first time ever.
"This is a live-action remake that hasn't been told before," shared newly minted lead singer, Adam Agee. "Disney has been doing this for years, and we feel that these beloved characters deserve their time on the big screen."
According to early reports, Breakfast In Hell will tell the story of a dystopian world where the forces of darkness–led by notorious arch-nemesis of Cap'n Crunch such as Jean LaFoote and The Soggies have banded together to eradicate the concept of breakfast itself. Their nefarious goal? To plunge the world into an era of eternal sogginess and deprive humanity of the most important meal of the day.
Enter the Newsboys–portrayed by none other than themselves–as an elite team of faith-fueled warriors, armed with guitars, scripture, and an arsenal of cereal-based weaponry. Their mission: to restore breakfast to the people and defeat the villains in an epic battle for the ages.
Sources claim that previous lead singer and NEWSBOYS UNITED member, Peter Furler, will portray the wise and mysterious "Cap'n," a seasoned warrior who guides the band on their mission. Meanwhile, former guitarist Phil Joel is expected to play a reformed Count Chocula who struggles with his past as a cereal overlord.
Of course, no Newsboys project would be complete without an unforgettable soundtrack. The band has already teased a remix of "Breakfast," along with new tracks like "Crunch Time" and "Milk & Honey (The Battle Hymn)."
Breakfast In Hell is set to hit theaters on April 1, 2026, with early screenings rumored to include free cereal for moviegoers. The film has already generated massive buzz, with fans calling it "the most ambitious Christian-cereal crossover in history."
Whether you're a fan of Newsboys, classic breakfast cereals, or just love a good underdog story, Breakfast In Hell promises to be an unforgettable experience. Just remember: in the battle between light and darkness, always keep your cereal crunchy.
