Casting Crowns singer Mark Hall and his family are requesting prayers as he undergoes surgery for cancer.
Mark shared details of his diagnosis in a statement on the band's official facebook page: "Doctors found a solid mass in my right kidney about a week ago. They are 90% sure it's cancer and they are going to remove the entire kidney next Wednesday, March 11th. They believe the cancer is contained in the kidney, which is also a great hope."
The artist and his family remains positive despite the challenges, citing their song "Praise You In This Storm," which has carried thousands of listeners through similar situations. Mark asked "Please pray for healing and for God's peace for my family."
Other artists have been quick to get on board to spread the word and share their support. Michael W. Smith posted "Praying with great faith for a complete healing!" Natalie Grant shared "I'm calling on all of my friends to add him to your prayers... we are praying, believing, trusting." Mandisa wrote that Mark is "One of the strongest & most COURAGEOUS brothers I know!"
The Christian music community is coming together in a powerful way to cover one of its cornerstone members in prayer. Artists have been sharing their support and prayers for Mark Hall with the hashtag #prayingforMark, and you can do the same via twitter, instagram, and facebook.
