Sky Hymnal recently released their new single and video, "It is Well," featuring steeples around the US. The video was released after two years of filming.
"The concept of Sky Hymnal was birthed a couple of years ago when we filmed the steeple at Woodmont Christian Church in Nashville," Sky Hymnal creator Keith Stancil shares. "That was our first steeple to film with a drone, and we were wowed by its magnificence. Woodmont Christian Church's steeple towers as a beacon for the Green Hills area and can be seen from most parts of Nashville. From the moment we saw the footage we captured, we knew there would be a steeples video and that magnificent steeple would be our closing shot."
Over the next two years, Stancil began filming steeples across the country in Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio, Texas, and California. The beauty of the steeples and what they represent moves the soul with an overwhelming peace, making the ever-popular hymn "It Is Well" the perfect song to accompany the video.
Sky Hymnal can be described as a guitar, a drone, and a hymn. Merging beautiful ambient guitar arrangements of hymns with drone video footage of landscape and architecture creates a video experience that serves as both a resource for the church and personal enjoyment for individuals.
