BOISE, Idaho--Momentum for the WE LOVE CHRISTIAN MUSIC AWARDS continues to build as fans cast more than double the number of votes as the event's first year.
The awards, produced by the largest Christian music site online, NewReleaseTuesday.com, in conjunction with primary sponsor Grand Canyon University, represent an eclectic mix of the best artists and records of Christian music in the calendar year 2013, as chosen by NewReleaseTuesday.com's editorial staff.
Fans cast more than 15,000 votes between Nov. 1 and Dec. 13 during public voting, choosing their favorites in 23 categories.
"There were a number of races that came down to the last few days," said NewReleaseTuesday.com Founder/President Kevin McNeese. "It was exciting to see so many Christian music fans show up en masse to support their favorites."
The focus now turns to the Roadshow Tour, which runs Jan. 9 through Feb. 16. A different award will be announced live each night at the pre-show event. Making the event even more special is that fact that Roadshow performers Skillet, Andy Mineo, Royal Tailor and We As Human all are nominated for various WE LOVE awards.
"Without giving too much away, we know for sure that at least one Roadshow performer will receive at least one award live before tens of thousands of fans," McNeese said. "We love that we're bringing the awards show experience across the country."
In addition to the 23 awards presented on the tour, Roadshow audience members will have the chance to vote on an exclusive 24th award, The Roadshow Award, which honors the best performer(s) on the tour.
NewReleaseTuesday.com also will provide a special "red carpet" photo booth (complete with costumes and props) at each Roadshow stop for some unforgettable digital mementos.
For those unable to attend the Roadshow, the WE LOVE CHRISTIAN MUSIC AWARDS will update its website with official winner announcement videos each night of the tour.
