The NRT Now PodCast started over 60 weeks ago and today, host Jake Frederick welcomes GRAMMY-nominated and Dove Award-winning artist, Natalie Grant to the 50th episode.
"I remember transcribing an interview I had done with Tauren Wells and I was struggling to convey his personality and the tone of the conversation effectively over text," explains Jake Frederick. "That bugged me, and I started thinking about how I could effectively highlight who an artist is as a person, not just as someone we listen to on Spotify. I had no idea what kind of journey I was in for but my honest hope is that God would God himself to the listeners through stories that we would have the opportunity to share."
"I know that I’ve been impacted by each conversation," continues Jake, "whether my thought process has been challenged or just seeing God move through other people’s stories. And that’s truly what this is. It’s not just another hit on radio or streams on Spotify–it’s a person’s story told through a musical medium."
Throughout the past 50 episodes, Jake has sat down for conversations with A-list artists to new up-and-coming independent artists to industry insiders. "I have so many favorites and impactful moments from these episodes," shares Jake. "After an emotional and open episode with I AM THEY, we sang an acapella version of "Scars" to end the episode. With Matthew West, I brought my dad in for our own version of ‘dadvice.’ The Josh Wilson episode led to a loop-off video that was a ton of fun to record. I could find a special moment in each episode. They are all unique conversations with so many great artists."
"I'm excited about the conversations that are coming and I'm so appreciative of the support I've received. 50 have been awesome, and I'm looking forward to a thousand more!"
