Creation Northwest is moving back East, sort of. For its 17th year, one of the largest Christian music festivals is moving from its home since 2010, Enumclaw, Washington, to the Benton County Fairgrounds in Kennewick, Washington.
The move comes four years after the festival relocated to Enumclaw from its first home at the much-loved Gorge Amphitheater in George, Washington. Kennewick, located an hour and a half Southeast of George (and 3 1/2 hours southeast of Enumclaw), has drier, warmer temperatures that more closely resemble that of the Amphitheater Days of the festival.
Festival Producer Bill Darpino said the move came as a result of needing a more centrally located site that would lend itself to more camping than had been experienced in Enumclaw. After rainstorms soaked campers in 2012 and 2013, the move back to the desert seems to support that goal.
The first Creation Festival Northwest in the Tri-Cities area will take place from July 30th to August 2nd. Tickets and more information may be found at creationfest.com.
