This morning the nominees were announced for the 2020 Grammy Awards, with Christian and Gospel artists well represented in five categories.
Nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song are the following: "Only Jesus" by Casting Crowns, "God Only Knows" by for KING & COUNTRY and featuring Dolly Parton, "Haven't Seen It Yet" by Danny Gokey, "God's Not Done With You" by Tauren Wells, and "Rescue Story" by Zach Williams.
For Best Contemporary Christian Music Album, the nominees are Crowder's I Know A Ghost, for KING & COUNTRY's Burn The Ships, Danny Gokey's Haven't Seen It Yet, TobyMac's The Elements and Chris Tomlin's Holy Roar.
In the Gospel categories, Kirk Franklin's "Love Theory," Gloria Gaynor's "Talkin' Bout Jesus" featuring Yolanda Adams, Travis Greene's "See The Light" featuring Jekalyn Carr, Koryn Hawthorne's "Speak The Name" featuring Natalie Grant and Tasha Cobbs Leonard's "This Is A Move (Live)" are all up for Best Gospel Performance/Song, while Kirk Franklin's Long Live Love, Donald Lawrence Presents The Tri -City Singers' Goshen, Gene Moore's Tunnel Vision, William Murphy's Settle Here and CeCe Winans' Something's Happening! A Christmas Album contend for Best Gospel Album.
Rounding out the faith-based categories, Best Roots Gospel Album recognizes Steven Curtis Chapman's Deeper Roots: Where the Bluegrass Grows, Gloria Gaynor's Testimony, Joseph Habedank's Deeper Oceans, Tim Menzies' His Name Is Jesus and Various Artists' Gonna Sing, Gonna Shout as nominees.
