Kentucky's Ichthus Festival will be returning in 2015 under a new name: the well-loved and successful
Creation Festivals.
Ichthus, the longest running Christian festival in the country, had to close its doors and sell its property in 2013 due to insurmountable financial difficulties. After an effort to get off the ground again this year, the festival ultimately opted to wait another year to regroup. Their return is enabled due to Creation Fest acquiring the festival.
A statement on the
official Ichthus facebook page read "The nation's longest-running Christian Festival will re-launch July 8th-11th, 2015 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY under its new name…Creation Festival! We hope you join us as we continue the Ichthus Experience while giving Tribute To Our Creator!"
The new ownership and rebranding makes Ichthus the fourth major festival in the Creation family, a group including Creation Northeast, Creation Northwest and Sonshine Festival.
