The fan-voted American Music Awards are right around the corner, and voting is live. While the awards mainly focus on mainstream music, this will be the 14th occurrence of the Favorite Contemporary Inspirational Artist award. This year's nominees are Christian music superstars Casting Crowns, Hillsong UNITED, and Newsboys.
Casting Crowns leads the group with a whopping six prior nominations for the award, having won twice. They are hoping to ride the momentum of their latest release,
Thrive to gain some votes. This will be the second nomination for Newsboys who have been propelled by the Dove award-winning film
God's Not Dead and are anticipating the release of their hymns album,
Hallelujah for the Cross. Hillsong UNITED is the newcomer to the awards and is hoping that their smash "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)"--which recently gained them five Dove awards--will be able to inspire voters to keep voting.
The American Music Awards will be broadcast on ABC live from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on November 23, 2014 at 8/7c.
