Joel Smallbone, one half of the popular group for KING & COUNTRY, and wife Moriah Smallbone have announced a new television venture that will expand the concept of the group's current hit single, "God Only Knows."
While the music video shines a light on loneliness and suicidal thoughts, the Christian music power couple will be taking the message of the song into a whole new direction. Joel and Moriah have announced they will be hosting a new Christian dating series that will seek to bring love to millennials who feel left behind by a world of fast-moving social media and a barrage of dating apps that don't work.
"Millennials have such a bad reputation and everyone talks so down to them," says Moriah Peters who is excited to both facilitate connections and remove the stigma in today's culture against this specific generation. "I'm so excited to join with Joel to help millennials surgically remove their phones from their eyeballs, get off their lazy rear ends, actually care about someone else's feelings for once in their lives and earn their keep."
Contestants will be selected through an initial round of speed dating challenges held at churches across the country. Led by worship leaders, and soulmates, Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes, the top scoring contestants of each gender will then be sent on various adventures around the world with Joel and Moriah checking in every night to talk about their progress.
The group is no stranger to utilizing creative media and marketing to engage their fan base and push a specific message. The track "Priceless" from the duo's sophomore release, Run Wild. Live Free. Love Strong. spawned a motion picture starting Joel as well as a product line that included a necklace and other products targeting human trafficking.
