Well-known (and longtime Lincoln Brewster) bassist/solo artist Norm Stockton has released the first single and premier episode of his "Grooves & Sushi" CD/DVD project and web series. The instrumental project incorporates elements of contemporary jazz, modern rock, world music, classical, funk, fusion, EDM, and more.
The series premier episode features the live performance of the debut single, a fun tune called "Lunar Mints."
Special guests include legendary drummer Gregg Bissonette (Ringo Starr, David Lee Roth), keyboardist Brian Willett (OneRepublic) and more.
Slated for a new single & new episode to be released each month leading to the album release, Grooves & Sushi is an ambitious undertaking featuring many iconic, world-class musicians recorded and filmed performing together live in Norm's living room. Each session assembles musicians who have never played together prior to the taping playing music that has never been performed before, and an on-site sushi chef who serves up great eats as Norm & his friends share their thoughts on music, sushi, creativity, life, faith and more.
Norm Stockton has traveled extensively throughout North America, Europe and Asia and is recognized by many as one of the premier bassists today. He has been featured in music publications around the world. Known in Christian music for his tenure with worship artist Lincoln Brewster, his other credits range from a widely-distributed instructional DVD series, to his own acclaimed instrumental jazz projects, to authoring a book published by Hal Leonard, to performing with several Grammy-winning artists. He currently serves as adjunct faculty at Biola University in Los Angeles, CA. Norm is also a columnist for Worship Musician magazine.
