The members of Newsboys UNITED, which combines the current lineup with former members Peter Furler and Phil Joel, have mentioned in multiple interviews that 2019 will hold more dates of their popular live show but will also be the year of new music under the Newsboys UNITED banner.
Today, the group's label, Fair Trade Services, confirmed the worst kept secret in Christian music with a video post on Facebook showcasing the group's last year of being together and hinting that new music is right around the corner.
The video includes interviews with Peter Furler talking about his friendship and professional relationship with current lead singer, Michael Tait. "We work really well together," Peter says of working onstage and in the studio with Micahel Tait.
Phil Joel also discusses the nostalgia of reuniting with his former band. "I keep pinching myself saying, 'we're really doing this and getting to play these songs again. It's pretty special."
The video ends with the promise that "New Music [Is] Coming Soon." No release date has been announced, but we're told to expect a single in the next couple months with the full album dropping this spring.
Newsboys UNITED are currently on tour headlining Christian music's largest annual tour, Winter Jam, through the end of March.
