Newsboys will be releasing a collection of their takes on classic hymns on November 4, 2014. Hallelujah For The Cross will feature ten hymns, including the title track, which is also the lead single.

This release caps off another busy year for the band. Following a stint on WinterJam, the band appeared as an integral part of surprise summer box office hit God’s Not Dead. The year also saw the meteoric rise of "We Believe," successful single from 2013 release Restart.

The decision to tackle a hymns project is just another chapter in the band’s long history with worship-oriented songs. "Growing up in the church, hymns were an essential component of traditional worship.  For as long as we can recall, we have loved the very essence of hymns," lead singer Michael Tait explains. "The writers of many of these majestic pieces wrote them during very painful, trying times of distress but Redeemed  places. To this day, the hymns of old still move us like nothing else, and by having the opportunity to bring focus back to them today in a modern style, we hope that they shall never die."
