The new tune, called "Making Things New," is a catchy pop/punk rock song that will not let down fans of the original Hawk Nelson. The release was announced by lead singer Jason Dunn in a video on Facebook. In the video, Dunn compared the band's approach to delivering their music to a soup kitchen. "What makes our mission similar to giving a bowl of soup at a soup kitchen? We're not going to make people pay for our music. We're going to give it away for free."
In order to support their ministry, AAE has created a Bandcamp page where fans can listen to "Making Things New" by streaming or downloading. If fans feel so compelled, there is an option to buy the song by naming your own price. According to the site, this is "our first release in over 12 years. Thank you for believing in our music and giving us a second chance. We're happy to be back!"
