Trevor McNevan, lead singer of
Thousand Foot Krutch, has announced plans to launch a hip hop project early next year.
According to a
post on social media, McNevan will launch a "new hip hop and eclectic project" called
As Thick As Thieves, with crowdfunded debut album
Fight Musik Vol. 1 expected to drop on March 2, 2018.
For Trevor McNevan, longtime frontman for TFK and pop/punk band
FM Static, this is a project that allowed him to explore another creative avenue. "It was so inspiring to dive into this," said McNevan in the social media post, "both creatively and holistically for me, exploring different things musically vocally and lyrically along the way. It's a creative room that I haven't invited anyone else into for a long time."
The freshman release for As Thick As Thieves will be independently released and funded by a
Pledge Music campaign. According to McNevan, this allows fans to connect directly with the artistic process. "In the same way we've done with TFK, I chose to release this music independently and not on a label. I wanted to personally welcome and invite you to join me on this journey."
In addition to rocking fans with Thousand Foot Krutch since 1997 and multiple releases from side pop/punk band FM Static, Trevor McNevan has also co-written and co-produced on Hawk Nelson records. You can learn more about Trevor McNevan by following him on
