The American Bible Challenge (ABC), a game show that tests contestant's knowledge of God and His word, will premiere its third season on Tuesday, May 22nd on the Game Show Network (GSN). Host Jeff Foxworthy is returning for another season alongside gospel singer, Kirk Franklin, who joined the show in the second season as announcer and co-host.
ABC is the highest rated game show on GSN, experiencing major popularity and record-breaking views every week. With witty categories and clever questions,
ABC has quickly become a family favorite.
Jeff and Kirk recently took some time to speak to the press and talked about the upcoming season along with some new and exciting changes in the format. "It's one thing to talk about faith," said Foxworthy, addressing what he likes best about hosting the show, "but when you can see it in action, that's when it gets interesting."
What makes this game show different from most is that the teams aren't competing for themselves. Each team plays to raise money for the charity of their choice, so although the seasons and teams may change, the purpose behind the show doesn't.
Jeff and the rest of the team feel like their goals for the show are simple. They want to show the world that Christianity doesn't have to be all rules and regulations and that it can be fun and entertaining. They also love the fact that the money goes to help people in need. "This isn't just a game show," continued Jeff. "This isn't happening anywhere else on television. That's why I'm proud to be a part of it."
He also loves that Kirk Franklin has become a part of the cast. When asked how he got involved in the show, Kirk said that he hadn't known much about it, but got a phone call one day and decided to check it out. He chose to take the job and said he was looking forward to being part of "something different." Kirk loves working alongside Jeff, saying it's a complete "honor."
The fun and exciting third season debuts on the Game Show Network on Thursday, May 22 at 8pm/7pm CT. Here's a sneak peak:
