A Canton Christmas, the highly anticipated full-length holiday debut from Dove Award-winning quartet Canton Junction, bows October 21. Produced by Garry Jones (Ivan Parker, Brian Free & Assurance), the Difference Media/Capitol Christian Distribution release features 10 arrangements of classic carols and timeless favorites.
Drawing from Canton Junction's range of influences--including Southern Gospel, country and Texas swing--among the highlights of A Canton Christmas are nostalgia-laden selections "A Big Ole Texas Christmas" and "Christmas Can't Be Very Far Away"; "Let There Be Peace On Earth"; the Matt Hagee and Aaron Wilburn-penned "Glory To God In The Highest"; and new arrangements of such beloved carols as "Angels We Have Heard On High," "Joy To The World" and the project's finale, "Silent Night/Away In A Manger."
"We've had so much fun putting a new twist on some of our all-time favorite Christmas songs, and recording this album over the past few months has given us a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the birth of our Savior beyond Christmas," said Canton Junction's Matt Hagee. "We hope our fans enjoy the project as much as we do and will make A Canton Christmas part of the soundtrack of their season for many years to come."
Ahead of the album's release, Canton Junction is set to hit the road this week, headlining the "Get Your Praise On" Fall Tour. The six-city outing kicks off Thursday in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and will visit Columbus, Ohio; Newburgh, Indiana; Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and Tulsa, Oklahoma, before concluding November 5 in Amarillo, Texas.
With individual resumes including GRAMMY® Award nominations, multiple GMA Dove Awards, Singing News Fan Awards and finalist honors on "Nashville Star," Canton Junction effortlessly blends traditional and contemporary sounds for a cutting-edge style all its own. Since their 2012 debut, Canton Junction has quickly become one of Southern Gospel's most sought-after groups. The self-titled Canton Junction featured four #1 singles, garnered a GMA Dove Award for Southern Gospel Album of the Year, and earned the group a Singing News Fan Award for Favorite Southern Gospel New Traditional quartet. Last year's Every Hallelujah debuted at #1 on Nielsen SoundScan's Southern Gospel Overall Chart and features the single "Weep No More," from the hit box office film Four Blood Moons.
Difference Media is a division of John Hagee Ministries, founded by John Hagee. Along with Canton Junction, the San Antonio-based label features some of the leading names in Gospel music, including Ivan Parker, Ricardo Sanchez, Matt Hagee, Tim Duncan, Aaron & Amanda Crabb, The Cornerstone Sanctuary Choir, John Hagee and The Hagees.
