Fresh on the heels of a major line-up change that saw drummer and vocalist Jacob "Crouton" Olds take the lead singer helm from brother and frontman Solomon "Soul Glow Activaur" Olds, Family Force 5 is ready to give fans a taste of their new style with the upcoming release of their new EP,
Hymn'D.
The five-song project features FF5's unique spin on some of the church's most beloved anthems of faith, plus the brand new original track, "Jesus Party Party," co-written by Martin Smith.
"After the surprising success of our last remix project,
Reanimated, it seemed fitting that a hymns project would be our next progression," offers guitarist Derek "Chap Stique" Mount. "Who said church music has to be boring?"
Mount isn't the only member excited about this new shift in the band's direction.
"Dang y'all," adds Crouton, "I'm excited about this. I mean, this is where our hearts are at, you know? Heaven is gonna be like one big party, and that's what we're all about. Bringing some of that love down here on earth."
OFFICIAL TRACK LISTING:
1. "How Great Thou Iz"
2. "Amazing Grace" (feat. Tedashii and Bill Gaither)
3. "Battle Hymn of the U.S. Cray"
4. "Jesus Party Party" (original song feat. Martin Smith)
5. "Nothing But The Blood" (Edward Cullen Remix)
The EP is also the first recorded project the band has released since the inclusion of their latest member, Teddy "Hollywood" Boldt, formerly of Wavorly fame.
"I'm so excited to be a part of something so huge," Teddy shared through a series of posts on Twitter, "these guys are like my family, and you guys are like my family too, because God makes us all family. Family Force unite!"
Crouton said the release date for
Hymn'D would be sometime around Labor Day.
