Christian rockers Veridia have announced that they will be making The Summer Sessions Vol. 1 available as a free download on April 7, with subscribers to their email list (sign up here) the first to receive the link.
Last summer, Veridia released a series of acoustic videos of songs not available on their debut EP, collectively titled The Summer Sessions. The songs marked a stylistic contrast to the electronic rock energy of their studio recordings. They also allowed for more personal lyrics to be poured out, including a tribute to a child who passed away in "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark." Legal audio files of the songs hadn't been made available prior to this release.
This releases comes off of a significant year for the band, which saw them release their second studio EP in Pretty Lies, with the title track duet with Matty Mullins of Memphis May Fire landing the band their second career No. 1 single. The band also opened for Evanescence at select shows in late autumn.
