The Bear Hug Band, hailing from Costa Mesa, California, is a new voice in the world of children's worship music. They re-released their most recent album Who's Got Their Armor On? this October, and they currently have new music in the works.
There always comes a time when those who teach young children go looking for new music. Usually they're looking for something fun and upbeat to match the energy of their youngsters, with bonus points if it's something that has a positive message. There's no shortage of good, positive kid music on the market, but sometimes it's hard to find.
Bear Hug Band meets that need. Around 2006, a group of students at Calvary Chapel School of Worship "stumbled" into writing children's worship music. Their first full-length album contained songs from the first two years of Bear Hug Band fun. Album number two, titled Who's Got Their Armor On?, was re-released October 2, 2015 on the Super Big Robot label.
