On paper alone, Angelas Dish look like the perfect Australian pop / rock group. They hail from a laid back beach town type community. They are young and well dressed. They have a sound that takes the modern pop / rock of Jimmy Eat World and gives it a heavy dose of Australian influence (taking queues from Eskimo Joe and Jebediah). They're modest, like to have a few drinks, and are all more than competent musicians. But for this quartet, what sets them apart is more than the sum of their parts or the way they look. Blunt Magazine put it the best when they stated that "Angelas Dish write melodies in their sleep".

The songwriting team of brothers Michael and Joshua Harris maybe only be in its formative stages, but the young duo have already made it clear that they have the ear and heart for melodies and song structures far beyond their years of experience.

With humble beginnings on the Central Coast area of NSW, Angelas Dish spent 2005 working the national market with their EP "Lie Die" - taking trips interstate often while always returning to the loyal Coast fans that have loved them since day one. By the end of 2005, the band was being courted by some of the bigger young rock bands in Australia for national tours (in just 5 months, they did entire national tours with Gyroscope, After The Fall, Grand Fatal and Behind Crimson Eyes) - impressing industry folk and bands alike with their punchy pop songs and down to earth lyrical approach.

With their new EP "My Body is An Ashtray", Angelas Dish have shown just how much the experience of touring has helped them develop. Where there was raw potential and beautiful melodies, there is now rock songs that play themselves out to near perfection. There are simple structures with the right dose of interesting guitar and vocal melody to set the mood apart. And there is enough honesty and passion in the music to make Angelas Dish sound and feel like the kind of rock band destined to impact listeners.
