Here For Jesus [edit]
by Nashville Life Music | Genre: Praise & Worship | Release Date: July 17, 2020

At its core, Here for Jesus is a diverse project united by more than simply style and joyful praise. It's worship in community. It's uniquely tied together by the diversity of the people who make up Nashville Life.

The album features guest artists like Leeland ("Way Maker," "Lion and The Lamb") and Dove-award-winning New Artist of the Year Aaron Cole. A creative, time period piece, marrying together worship with throwback sounds from 70's and present-day musical influences, Here For Jesus feels ready to become a modern classic. Imagine worship music that's a mix of Elton John, Queen, Earth, Wind & Fire, Chance the Rapper and Kanye West - it's an album unlinke any you've ever heard and one you can't miss.

Creativity in worship! | Posted July 16, 2020

What You Need To Know:
Nashville Life Church is pastored by Alvin Love and CeCe Winans Love while Nashville Life Music is their music department who is signed with Integrity Music. Although they have released many singles and the Taylor House Session EP since 2017, their new album, Here for Jesus is their second full-length release. This unique aggregation has quickly carved their path and musical niche as one that is unlike any other modern worship band. Producer/singer, Dwan Hill, won the ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Award for the track, "My Life" which featured Mr. Talkbox. Things are still jumping with Here for Jesus.

What it Sounds Like:
This album is so much fun and a celebration of our life in Christ! We NEED this album in 2020! Alvin Love Jr. brings his falsetto to lead the upbeat, “More Than Words,” that recalls late 70’s, early 80’s Michael Jackson tunes. Get ready to dance to this R&B jam!

Insert, “In A Little While.” Close your eyes and imagine yourself in a church concert in the 1970’s with the freedom to dance and worship. Think Abba and the Bee Gees singing Gospel and Christian music! Those groups have a very unique way of singing and may make one cringe of the thought of singing worship music in 2020. However, “In A Little While” will have you wanting to put on some bell bottoms and dance like John Travolta in Saturday Night Live

"Here For Jesus" is self-explanatory in meaning and hard-hitting in drum beat topped with the group's singing stadium rock style. Dwan Hill takes the lead, and it is cool to hear the contrast of his cool and collective vocal style on the verse compared to the rest of the song.

Spiritual Highlights:
“The Name above all other names/His love for us will never fail/So good our hearts cannot contain/So let the Church erupt with praise!” This is the bridge to “Here for Jesus” and is central to the album’s message and the hearts of followers of Christ. “Claim It All” is a wonderful ballad of victory for God’s people. Giving the harsh climate of this somewhat crazy year, this song is a great reminder of shining through dark times and not being afraid in the midst of raging. Knowing who we are and whose we are is powerful and through Him we should carry a confidence and an assurance.

Best Song on the Record:
Although there are so many standout songs on this album, “Shepherd” is a go-to song and one of calm strength. To top it all of, Leeland is the lead singer on the song and he was the right person for it. When so much is screaming at us, remember the tag, “My life is better/I like it better when I am following You.” Leeland’s ad-libs are placed so well and add to the potency of the end of the song.

For Fans Of:
Leeland, Hillsong Young and Free, Maverick City Worship, CeCe Winans, Tauren Wells

Final Word:
Thank you Nashville Life Music for Here for Jesus! What a refreshing yet, fun album! Some may be surprised when listening to the album due to some of the uniqueness. However, do NOT give up on it because it will be something that you won't forget.
