Welcome To Diverse City

I bought this cd awhile back. I thought it was okay, but a bit repetitive. I like the later Tobymac a lot better, however I still think this album is worth listening to. My favorite songs are "Burn for You" and "Gone".

This is an awesome album from tobyMac. Apart from
Tonight, I think this is his best project. It features great songs like Catchafire, Burn For You, Diverse City, The Slam and Getaway Car.

"tobyMac's" Sophomore release is a smashing hit with singles like "Gone", "Catchafire(Whoopsie-Daisy)" and "Diverse City"

"Hey Now”, a urban sounding song, has catchy vocals and a cool rap in the second verse. "Catchafire (Whoopsie-Daisy) has a more alternative rock sound with lyrics that will stay in your head for months."The Slam" is an excellent song with some rap/rock in it. (It suits Toby well.)

"Poetically Correct", is a weird interlude, in a good way. "Atmosphere" which is the only song I don't like on the album, has a slow DC TALK feel, hence the "Atmosphere" (remix) with DC TALK. "Gone", "Diverse City", "Gotta Go" and "Getaway Car" are a mix of Alternative Rock, Pop, Urban, and Rap. "TruDog: The Return" is nice track featuring the one and only Truette (Toby's son)

"tobyMac" truly has bought home a winner with a Diverse sound in each and every song. If you are going to pick up any "tobyMac" CD this should be your first.

I love this cd. It's not my favorite though. I like portable sounds better but its still really good. Hey now, Catchafire, The Slam, Diverse City, Burn For You, and Ill-M-I are the best songs on the Cd.

My favourite song is "Atmosphere". Both versions are good, I don't have a personal favourite, as they are very similar. The rest of the album is solid too. Worth the money!

I love his style of music. It's a great album.

Welcome to Diverse City is one of the best toby mac CDs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my favorite song on the Cd is Catcafire(WhoopsiDasi) but all of the songs on the Cd are awesome a must buy Cd!!!!!!!!!!!!

Celebrating diversity is tobymac's album"Welcome to Diverse City".As the title suggest this album is full of diversity in music,with a mix of raps("ill-m-I" "catchafire")rockin songs("The slam" "Phenomenom") and just cool songs such as "Diverse City".This cd is a great cd to add to anyone's collection.My favorite song is "Diverse City"(just wanted to throw that in).

This is an AWESOME album! I love all of tobyMac's music! He is amazing and a definite crowd pleaser! TWO THUMBS UP!!!!!!!

This is a nice CD! It's entertaining and fun. My favorite songs are "Phenomenon", "Gone", "Atmosphere", "The Slam" and my ultimate fave is "Burn For You"! Great, toby!

This cd is sooo cool. if you like hip-hop, and pop, this cd is for you. My fave songs are gone, hey now, and diverse city. if you like his cds, you will love him in concert. he is sooo awesome in concert. I definitely recommend this cd to everyone.

Well tobymac's second cd as solo. I like cd because it has great songs like The Slam, Catchafire (Whoopsi-Daisy),Atmosphere, Gone, Diverse City, Burn for You, and Phenomenon.

Great cd! I love tobyMac's style -- or should I say styles! His music is full of so many different styles mixed into one huge and amazing genre: tobyMac! I pretty much love every song on this album!

Toby Mac is one of the best christian rappers ever! I normally dont listen to rap that much but u will listen to Toby Mac anytime!!!!! I cant wait to see what other songs he has for us!

one of the best of tobymac's! the songs are very upbeat and i like how he got other artist to be featured on some of the songs. songs like 'hey now', 'diverse city', 'the slam' and others are really good.

Toby Mac is so dang cool! He is a real musician and artist and I'm never bored by his music! It plain out good stuff that is so much fun to listen too and as if the music were not awesome enough his message and ministry is WHOAH! I love his lyrics! He really is one of the best Christian Artists of all time!

Gone-I love this song! I love it musically and lyrically.

Diverse City-One of my favorite songs EVER! So much fun to listen to and so unique to toby.

The Slam-This song literally rocks and you cannot not get into it cause its so infectious!

Burn for you-I love this song! Its one of the coolest songs I have ever heard and I can never get sick of listening to it!

Bottom Line Toby is the man! lol No really he is so AWESOME!!!!!

tobyMac's sophomore solo album is different than the debut. It's more soulful and it's awesome.

This album is so great. My all-time tobyMac favorite. Each song is unique in one way or another.But yet each song is the same in one way...They're all great!My favorite song on here would probably be Catchafire or Diverse City.I would definitely recommed this cd and check out other tobymac album too.

I became a fan of Tobymac only a few months ago when I went to see a Family Force 5 concert that he was headlining. I didn’t actually see him, but my dad did and he totally loved it. He went out and bought two of his albums and I listened to them. I was blown away. This album is really diverse (who would have known?) ‘Catchafire’ and ‘Burn For You’ are my absolute favorites. They’re so well put together and the lyrics are so uplifting. This album shows the brilliance of Tobymac and he’s great in concert. This album will blow your mind, trust me on this one.

This second album from Toby Mac takes a slightly different turn stylistically and creates an album almost as powerful as his debut Momentum. “The Slam” isn’t quite as strong lyrically or musically as the similar rock songs “Momentum” or “Extreme Days” on Toby’s debut album. I could also do without the speaking interludes (ex. “Poetically Correct”), which were tolerable in Momentum but are not as good here. They create an interesting break between songs but in general I don’t like them. However, a welcome surprise to the end of the album is a remix of “Atmosphere” featuring the other two members of dc talk, Michael Tait and Kevin Max, reminding me how much I miss hearing their voices together. Overall though, this is a great album as Toby creates an album unlike anyone else in this industry, combining great songs and production with many different music genres.

This CD is pretty sweet. I really like the songs "Catchafire" and "The Slam" the best.

Diverse City and Burn For You are AWESOME songs! A must have album for any dc Talk fan!

Ever since dc Talk, Tobymac has performed better than Tait or Kevin Max, and this shows it. Fast-paced songs you can enjoy driving down the highway.

On this album toby totally takes it to the limits.. He is one of the best in his genre..
With very catchy songs, he will have you singing along..Powerful message in his lyrics too!

This cd was one of the one's that I really liked the first couple of times I listend to it.
I still like it, but it needs something.
I don't know maybe it's just me. I do like a lot of the songs on this cd. Stories, LMI, and Diverse
City. All together a ,good, Cd.

Welcome Diverse City, Toby Mac’s second album, Is a great hybrid of rock fused hip-hop as Toby Mac moves closer to perfecting his own signature sound.

Welcome to Diverse City has a more refined sound than momentum, his first CD, and a more consistent tune. The beats are good, but Toby Macs creativity is the huge part of his success. The album is loaded with hits like “gone”, “atmosphere”, and “burn for you”, and the title track, which all sound terrific. “The slam” is an excellent rock/rap song, but from there the 16 track CD gets less smooth. There are good fun hip-hop songs like “gotta go”, “hey now”, and “getaway car” but there seems to be several other half-hearted songs on the CD.

Toby Mac has some great songs on Welcome to Diverse City almost all the songs are good and meaningful, but there are songs like “the slam” that are really good. Pick almost any song on the album and there are good lyrics, and great messages.

Welcome to diverse City is an improvement from momentum, but the CD is not perfect. Toby Mac needs to make all of his songs as good as his radio singles.

Although my review may be a little biased when it comes ta Toby (one of my favorites) I must say that the concept of this album really hits the proverbial nail on the head. If revival is to happen in our world, it will be through the unity of the brethren standing together in truth for the purpose of winning souls to Christ.
