Sullivan\'s Flaw

By the time I recorded this record, I was a full-time worship leader and singer-songwriter making a decent living, and I was as shocked as anybody. I had paid off the loan from Something by Sunrise within a few months of that CD’s release, after which I started saving up again, so that I wouldn’t have to borrow any more money. My diligence paid off and, as a result, I did this record debt-free. The recording contains 12 songs, including “If the Devil Was a Man,” easily one of the goofiest songs ever written, and “Such is the Love,” which is still one of my favorites to do in concert. Once again, Craig Weaver provided brilliant percussion and drum work. You’ll also hear a young Jack Parker (The David Crowder Band) on electric guitars, plus jazz virtuoso Keith Vivens on bass, and my original Breakaway partner Michael Armstrong on keys and background vocals. The result is pretty dated, in terms of production and such, and my voice was still painfully nasal (isn’t it always?), but the songwriting is solid and relatively deep. Sullivan’s is a fan favorite, to my great surprise, and has sold over 8000 copies.
