Independent Miami-based lyricist Oscar Urbina is primed to release his most anticipated project to date,
Molly Pitcher 2: Darkness. The project is a follow-up to the first offering,
Molly Pitcher, released in July of 2016.
Oscar's third career release will be a different project for everybody involved, especially the artist himself. Risks will be taken. Lines may be stretched. Hearts will be changed. Oscar Urbina has a degree in theology and education, and he is currently teaching a class of eighth graders through the scripture and academics. One of the tracks off of
Molly Pitcher 2: Darkness is titled "Teacher Chronicles," depicting his daily interaction with life, the classroom, and leading others to a relationship with Christ. Aside from the instructional theme of the mixtape, transparency will be present throughout. Oscar walks the listener through his own struggles, viewpoints and victories. His heart becomes unleashed.
The words of Psalm 88 echo throughout the mixtape as Oscar bares his soul, from being stripped of what is held most dear to remaining a faithful servant of the Lord Most High. Bridging off of this chapter in the Bible, Oscar had this to share with his fans: "It was in the darkest moments of my life that I saw the light the brightest. While most are paralyzed from the fear of darkness, I found a home in it, and now with great hospitality I invite you in."
Urbina debuted with
Finally back in January of 2014. Each of the three unique projects he has released have been a free download, blessing the ears of hip-hop heads for the past three years. Oscar has previously worked with such CHH heavyweights as Social Club Misfits, Gemstones, nobigdyl., and longtime friend Serge.
Above any potential forthcoming backlash or criticism from the CHH community, Oscar presents the new material to reach both the church and the unchurched. Oscar balances faith with personal struggle to handcraft a project promised to turn heads. You can learn more and keep up with Oscar approaching the release on
