What You Need To Know
RICHLIN (Brandon Richardson) is a brand new artist, and he recently released his debut single with his new label Gotee Records titled "Royal Blood." RICHLIN grew up in a Christian home in southern Oregon, and says that music is "a vehicle for him to facilitate an encounter with the presence of God."
What it Sounds Like
The song speaks of the resurrection of Jesus, and how in Him we are royalty. I really like the vibe of this song and RICHLIN's "worshipful pop/rock" sort of style. This song really communicates the beauty in the life and death of Jesus, which is something we need to hear in more songs!
The verse that comes to mind after listening to this song is 1 Peter 2:9 which says, "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." The song speaks of how we are a chosen people through the blood of Jesus, and that we'll forever reign with God all because of what His royal blood did for us. Verse two of the speaks of this, "Now we know just who we're called to be / a chosen people you call kings and priests / we'll shake the nations and the seven seas / by Your love and Your blood."
RICHLIN released an impressive new single, and I think this is just the beginning of more great music to come in the Gotee Records roster. If you're looking for a brand new artist to listen to, I suggest you check out RICHLIN's music! You can listen to "Royal Blood" now on Spotify.
