What You Need To Know
Though the name isn't instantly familiar, the voice of London Gatch certainly is. As a long time member and worship leader of Elevation Worship, she sang and recorded numerous songs including "Grace Like A Wave" and "Greater." Now on her own, she is primed to relase a full-length record on BEC in 2018. "Jesus Only You" is the first single, and hints at great things to come from this new (yet familiar) voice.
What It Sounds Like
"Jesus Only You" calls on a formula that has been successful for many of today's best worship leaders. Think a touch of Kari Jobe, with the lyrical sensibilites that we've come to know and love from Elevation Church. This song has an eminitely singable and catchy chorus, as well as an extremely powerful and declarative bridge.
Spiritual/Lyrical Highlights
The bridge lyrics speak for themselves here: "I lift my hands as hands as high as I can raise them/And I will sing as loud as I can sing/So let my praises be my declaration/I worship You and You alone are king."
Final Word
If "Jesus Only You" is any indication, we are in for an album full of songs to be reckoned with when the full length does arrive. With a striking voice and equally powerful lyrics to match, London Gatch is primed for a big 2018. Look out for her next single "You Never Walk Away" on July 27, 2018!
