Part of me wants to give this album 5 stars, but due to nitpicky complaints, we'll keep it at 4.5. That being said, DH has delivered on their promise to make their heaviest, yet most melodic album yet. This album hits hard from beginning to end, but gives some beautiful moments as well. Any fan of the band should love it. It is definitely a new sound for them, or should I say several new sounds. The album has more stylistic variety than any of their previous records. The tempos and structures vary greatly from song to song and Ryan Clark shows off more vocal range than I thought he had. This is definitely a vocal-centered album, though new guitarist Patrick Judge certainly shows off some skills as well. Highlights thus far include The World is a Thorn, Just Breathe, This is the Line, Driving Nails, and Feel as Though You Could.
