Anything but Candy Coated

Unlike a lot of music that hits the airwaves today, Plumb's music is anything but candy coated nothingness. Plumb's musical depth is quite remarkable, and her lyrics are quite soul-searching.
This album features a perfect mix of snappy, light pop tunes ("Lie Low", "Worlds Collide") and more aggressive rock tracks ("Solace", "Late Great Planet Earth"). Almost all of the songs feature beautiful strings by the London Symphony Orchestra which adds a classy, and sometimes haunting, touch to the album.
Some songs, such as the abstract "Late Great Planet Earth" and the meaningful "Drugstore jesus" show huge musical leaps from her debut, where as some songs hold the same magic from her debut, i.e. "Phobic" and "candycoatedwaterdrops".
The album also appeals to people who love the cheery, AC tunes all over the radio, with tracks like "God-shaped Hole" and "Here With Me".
Plumb especially stands out on the songs "Stranded", a song about being honest, and "Damaged", a track about sexual abuse (also check out the Extended Cut of this song on her 2006 release Chaotic Resolve).
Overall, candycoatedwaterdrops is my absolute favorite album from Plumb. It has something for everyone on the album, without sounding mish-mashed and choppy.
