Sometimes, a well-tred, beloved song can use a fresh coat of paint. And during a recent radio interview in Australia, Hillsong UNITED did just that for their church's iconic worship tune, "Shout to the Lord."
While at the studios of Sydney-based Christian radio station Hope 103.2, the DJs challenged UNITED to mash-up the song "Flashlight" by Jessie J with "Shout to the Lord"--in just 15 minutes.
Always up for a creative challenge, the band came back and, despite feeling nervous, "Oceans" singer Taya Smith delivered a flawless R&B performance that fit the "Shout ot the Lord" lyrics into the "Flashlight" melody before ending with the classic melod.
"That is ridiculously fantastic!" roared the enthusiastic DJs.
