"I wrote this song in a season when I realized how much I was trying to control everything in my life," shares Micah Christopher. "As a dad, a husband, and someone stepping into new opportunities, I kept finding myself gripping tightly to plans and outcomes I could never really control. The image that wouldn't leave me was my hands on a steering wheel, holding on way too tight."
Authentic, soulful, and gritty, "White Knuckles" is rooted in Matthew 11:28--30 and Psalm 46:10. The lyrics serve as a reminder that Jesus invites us to rest, trust, and surrender -- and that surrender isn't always one dramatic moment, but a daily decision to slow down, breathe, and place everything back in God's hands.
He adds, "My hope is that this song gives people permission -- and a reminder -- to stop carrying everything on their own. So many of us are walking around with pressure, anxiety, and fear we've been holding for a long time, sometimes without even realizing it. We don't have to grip so hard.
